Kamień Pomorski lies in the northern part of west-maritime province, near the Kamiński Bay, on the Gryficka Plain.
There are 9,7 thousands of residents (1998).
There is vary famous health resort which cures dieseases of motorial organ, circulatory system and also rheumatic ailments (salt spring explored from the second part of XIX ct.) and many sanatoriums. The town is also popular for its oil extraction and grocery industry.
Monuments: gothic cathedral of the Holly Virgin and saint John the Baptist (XII-XIII ct.) - the most famous monument of the West Maritime.
Late-gothic Bishops Palace (XIV-XVI w.). The fragments of the town walls (XIII-XIV ct.) with Wolińska Gate. Late-gothic Townhall (XCV ct.). An archeological place with the cementary from X-XII century with pagan (burnt) and christian (skeleton) graves, near saint Mikołaj Church. All those things create very interesting monumental-urban set.
